Kericho County is located in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. It has its capital in Kericho town.
Population and Administration
Kericho county has a population of 896,863 people according to Kenya’s 2019 Housing and population Census results. The County is divided into six constituencies, namely: Ainamoi, Belgut, Bureti, Kipkelion East, Kipkelion West, and Sigowet-Soin constituencies.
The County Government of Kericho is led by H.E. Governor Prof. Paul Kiprono Chepkwony and Her Excellency Susan Kikwai, OGW as the deputy governor.
Kericho County is universally known for its quality tea. It is home to the best Kenyan Tea. Agriculture is thus the main economic activity practiced in the region.
Many industries have been set up in the county to process the tea harvested in the county. They include Unilever Kenya, James Finlay, and Williamson Tea.
