Nandi County is located in the former Rift Valley region of Kenya. It borders with Kakmega, Vihiga, Uasin-Gishu, Kisumu and Kericho Counties. It is Kenya’s athletics hub.
Population and Administration
Nandi County is divided into six constituencies namely: Mosop, Emgwen, Chesumei, Nandi Hills, Aldai and Tinderet.
The county is led by H.E. Governor Stephen Sang who is the county’s second governor after Hon Cleophas Lagat.
Agriculture and tourism are the main economic activities carried out in the county. The county is known for its thriving tea estates.
Many tourists visit the county to train for Marathons. It is known as The Source of Champions thus many people visit the county to know where their champions hail from.
Nandi County is home to world Legendary Marathoner Kipchego Keiono. Other world record breakers from the county include: Pamela Jelimo and Janet Kipkosgei.
